JAPANESE WIND BREAKER

Windproof jacket, Japanese brand BARTACK, made in Korea in 1986.

Color : Beige Sand, braids and hood Brick
Material : Cotton and polyester
Size L

Hybridization material:
Off-white parachute of the French army AMR 716 of the 1950s

Thin and lightweight, this straight cut windproof jacket has been selected for the quality of its finishes and design: ultra-strong bronze zipper, breathing eyes, deep side pockets with gussets and snaps, shirt shape on the back, tightening pressures on the wrists, clips on the hood, elbow reinforcement and bartack seams.

Inspired by the waterproof jackets of all the armies of the world, the origins of today's sports jackets, this piece was hybridized through a post-World War II parachute to highlight its utilitarian aspect, extrapolate its remarkable design points and bring it the creativity it lacked despite its many qualities of use:

- The flexible parachute reinforcements were placed at a crossroads on the existing elbow pads to reinforce them in the centre;

- Reinforced inner pockets have been created thanks to the frame and canvas of the parachute to allow two new functions (telephone and pens) and to carry most of the necessary everyday objects without overloading the original pockets;

- The upper structure of the frame has been grafted onto the hood as an aesthetic commitment that underlines the utilitarian inspiration of the room;

- The parachute canvas doubled the back of the jacket and thus reinforced its windproof action and preserved the body's warmth.

Thanks to these interventions, the windbreak has become a room with increased functionalities and a stronger creative bias, notably through the addition of a visible colour.

The windproof jacket is a unique and mixed piece, reworked in our workshop in Paris.
