The creations released in the 70s were often created in the late 60s. The contestation developed in the 1960s, pushes the 70s into the soft with the creation of soft seats and footstools surrounded by soft pop volutes. The design then found the soft curves of art nouveau but enhanced with vibrant colors, pop art is omnipresent in art and decoration.

The craziest projects respond to this new art of living: you collapse in front of the TV on cushions placed everywhere and foam sofas, cupboards become embedded in the walls, containers become living spaces, the seat becomes Bubble by Eero Amio or heated by Olivier Mourgue, or inflatable by Aubert or Quasar Khanh, reissued by Branex.

Great Britain with its Council of industrial design advocates a policy of industrial design which gives it a status of model, an adequacy of forms and functions, widely conveyed by the creations of Peter Murdoch and his cardboard furniture. In France, the first exhibition of the Centre de Création Industrielle in 1969, "What is design", brought together the best of world design: Joe Colombo, Charles Eames, Verner Panton ... and dedicated the revelation of Frenchman Roger Tallon, training Olivier Mourgue, Pierre Paulin and Marc Berthier. The couple Claude and François Lalanne developed a style of interior decoration that was both daring and chic, between design and plastic art, which entered the Elysée Palace and became famous.

In 1970, Atelier A was founded, bringing together Adzak, Arman, Césr, Raysse and Sanejouand to produce furniture and artists' objects. It is also the beginning of a distinction between designer and decorator; the term "Interior Architect" puts everyone in agreement.

But it was above all in Italy that design exploded, driven by the now famous Salona del mobile di Milano. Already famous for its famous Valentine in 1969, the Olivetti firm develops a design dynamic that attracts the best designers on earth and brings in its wake the household goods industry; a formidable connivance links production firms such as Cassina or Fiorucci, engines and promoters, who will each create their own style.

The materials most often used during this period were synthetic, with shiny, translucent effects such as stainless steel, formica, Plexiglas, resin.... The atmospheres are unconventional, futuristic or very flashy!

We present here a set of vintage bottle and magazine racks, in brushed aluminum, in line with this seventies trend.
